-Su Santidad Francisco ha recibido en audiencia esta mañana en el Palacio Apostólico Vaticano, a Sus Majestades el Rey Felipe VI y la Reina Letizia de España. Sus Majestades se han encontrado posteriormente con el cardenal Pietro Parolin, Secretario de Estado a quien acompañaba monseñor Antoine Camilleri, Secretario para las Relaciones con los Estados.
Durante las conversaciones, que han transcurrido en una atmósfera de cordialidad, se ha puesto de manifiesto el agrado por esta visita, la primera que el monarca efectúa al extranjero, que sigue la cumplida hace poco por el Rey Juan Carlos I y la Reina Sofía el pasado 28 de abril, y que hace esperar en el fortalecimiento de las buenas relaciones ya existentes entre la Santa Sede y España.
Más tarde se han abordado temas de interés común como la importancia de favorecer el diálogo y la colaboración entre la Iglesia y el Estado para el bien de toda la sociedad española. Por último se han mencionado diversas problemáticas de carácter internacional y regional, con particular atención a las que interesan las zonas de conflicto.
