El Papa Francisco dirigirá a los asistentes y organizadores su Bendición y su mensaje, que este año versará sobre el hecho de «ir saliendo a la calle de la mano de la Virgen en esta dura etapa que estamos viviendo y entender a ésta como fuente de esperanza además de proclamar sin miedo el Evangelio», adelanta Nicolás Arroyo, uno de los organizadores de la Gran Vigilia de la Inmaculada. Más de 50 años disponiendo y estructurando estos actos le llevan a afirmar que «venimos de un invierno y vamos caminando a una primavera real», lo que se traduce en que «está habiendo un despertar clarísimo hacia la fe, hacia las inquietudes religiosas». Para Arroyo, esta Vigilia es no menos que milagrosa, pues en ella ha visto «conversiones sorprendentes: desde gente de mediana y avanzada edad que hace años que no se encontraba con Dios y termina la misa llorando, postrada ante la virgen para pedir por su alma, hasta numerosos jóvenes que quieren hacerse fuertes en el ejercicio de la fe». Lo que diferencia a esta celebración de la Eucaristía del resto de las que se suceden cada día entre los fieles es que aquí «la virgen llama a la conversión, a la asistencia, al encuentro con Dios a través de los sacramentos, y eso es irresistible».
