CONTINÚA CON LA TENDENCIA A LA BAJA DE LOS ÚLTIMOS 10 AÑOS
El número de nacimientos registrados durante el primer semestre del año fue de solo 179.794 bebés. El número de fallecimientos ha aumentado en ese periodo un 2,1%, lo que hace que el crecimiento vegetativo presente un saldo negativo de 46.590 personas.
(Agencias/InfoCatólica) El número de nacimientos registrados durante el primer semestre del año fue de 179.794, la menor cifra desde 1941, cuando comenzó a elaborarse la serie histórica, y un 5,8% inferior a los del mismo periodo de 2017.
Sin embargo, según las Estadísticas del Movimiento Natural de la Población difundidas este martes por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) el número de fallecimientos ha aumentado en ese periodo un 2,1%, hasta 226.384, lo que hace que el crecimiento vegetativo (nacimientos menos muertes) presente un saldo negativo de 46.590 personas.
De acuerdo con estos datos, el número de nacimientos continúa con la tendencia a la baja de los últimos 10 años, sólo interrumpida en 2014, cuando nacieron 427.595 niños, casi 2.000 más que un año antes.
Los nacimientos descendieron en todas las comunidades autónomas, aunque de forma más acusada en La Rioja, donde cayeron un 13,7%, seguida de Extremadura, con un 10,3%, y de Cantabria, con un 7,8%.
Respecto a las defunciones, el aumento del primer semestre del año se debió, fundamentalmente, a la alta mortalidad registrada en enero, mes en el que fallecieron 47.742 personas.
Por comunidades, la evolución no ha sido homogénea, de modo que las defunciones aumentaron en doce de las diecisiete regiones, encabezadas por Canarias, donde crecieron un 10,2%, Andalucía, con un 5,3%, y Cantabria, con un 5,1%.
Como resultado de estos datos, el saldo vegetativo entre enero y junio solo fue positivo en tres comunidades: Madrid, con 3.714 personas más; Murcia, con 997, y las Baleares, con 428 más.
Por el contrario, las que más población perdieron son Galicia, con 9.135 personas; Castilla y León, con 7.857, y la Comunidad Valenciana, con un descenso de 5.959 habitantes.
