El Papa Francisco ha enviado un telegrama al rabino de Roma, Riccardo di Segni, en el que felicita a toda la comunidad judía por la fiesta de Pésaj o Pascua hebrea que comienza este viernes 22 de abril y que se prolongará hasta el próximo día 30.
En el telegrama, enviado por la Secretaría de Estado del Vaticano y firmada por el Papa Francisco (Franciscus), el pontífice argentino ha señalado que esta fiesta recuerda que «el Omnipotente ha liberado a su amado pueblo de la esclavitud de Egipto para guiarlo a la Tierra Prometida».
«Que Dios os acompañe hoy con la abundancia de sus bendiciones, proteja vuestra comunidad y en su misericordia os dé la paz», ha subrayado.
Finalmente, el Santo Padre ha asegurado al Rabino su oración por ellos y se ha mostrado confiado en poder «profundizar en el vínculo de estima y de amistad recíproca».
