Evidentemente dolido por el tono agresivo de muchos debates, el Papa Francisco afirmó que “hay que evitar el ruido en los medios informativos y la murmuración dentro de la comunidad”. Con mucha fuerza insistió: “¡Nada de insultos! El insulto no es cristiano. ¿Entendido?”.
En su saludo a más de veinte mil fieles que acudieron al rezo del Ángelus, el Papa comentó el pasaje evangélico de la corrección fraterna, que aconseja hacer esos comentarios en privado a la persona interesada. Francisco añadió que “si mi hermano comete una falta contra mí, antes de nada tengo que hablarle personalmente, explicándole que eso no está bien. Si no escucha, Jesús propone una intervención progresiva, volviendo a hablarle con otras dos o tres personas…”.
Como en otras ocasiones, el Papa aconsejó examinarse en primer lugar de los propios errores antes de ponerse a juzgar a los demás, y recordó que el Evangelio nos enseña a pedir perdón por las propias faltas. A implorar “ten piedad de mí. No ‘ten piedad de este’ o ‘ten piedad de esta’”.
