Unos 2.000 jóvenes secundaron la convocatoria de los fundadores del Camino Neocatecumenal, Kiko Argüello y Carmen Hernández, y se reunieron en la noche de ayer en la parroquia de San Pedro del Pinatar. Llegados de diferentes comunidades de Almería, Alicante, Mallorca y Murcia los jóvenes llenaron al completo la parroquia de San Pedro y el atrio exterior de la iglesia, desde donde siguieron la celebración a través de una pantalla gigante.
Acompañando a los jóvenes también acudieron a la celebración medio centenar de sacerdotes, entre los que se encontraban el párroco de San Pedro, D. Roberto Burgos; el rector del Seminario Misionero Redemptoris Mater de nuestra diócesis, D. Diego Martínez; así como rectores de otros seminarios Redemptoris Mater y sacerdotes vinculados al Camino Neocatecumenal.
El objetivo de este encuentro era despertar vocaciones entre los jóvenes para evangelizar en Asia. Kiko Argüello comentó la necesidad de dar a conocer a Cristo en los países asiáticos y leyó una carta remitida por el equipo misionero que en los últimos meses ha visitado distintos lugares para conocer la realidad de estos países.
Argüello urgió a los jóvenes a ponerse en manos de Dios para dejar a un lado la “autonomía moral que impide al hombre hacer la voluntad de Dios”. Así mismo, el fundador del Camino Neocatecumenal hizo hincapié en que “todos los cristianos estamos llamados a anunciar el Evangelio”.
De entre los 2.000 jóvenes que acudieron a la cita 18 chicos y 19 chicas se comprometieron ante la asamblea a ser nuevos evangelizadores en tierras asiáticas y otros muchos reafirmaron su compromiso para rezar diariamente el rosario por esta misión.
