El Papa Francisco ha recordado a los jóvenes que el futuro está en sus manos y les ha invitado a soñar un mundo mejor, a protestar contra las guerras y a respetar la sabiduría de sus mayores, durante una videoconferencia con varios jóvenes de diferentes países del mundo, con motivo del lanzamiento de la plataforma Scholas para conectar a todas las escuelas del mundo para construir entre todas una cultura de la paz.
«El futuro lo tienen los jóvenes, pero cuidado, jóvenes con dos cualidades: con alas y raíces. Anímate a soñar cosas buenas, a soñar un mundo mejor, a protestar contra las guerras y respetar la sabiduría que recibiste de tus mayores», ha subrayado.
Los jóvenes que han conectado con el Pontífice lo han hecho desde los cinco continentes, concretamente, desde Australia, Sudáfrica, Estambul, Israel y San Salvador. A todos ellos, el Papa les ha pedido que «tiendan puentes de paz» en lugar de «levantar muros», que «dividen». También les ha invitado a comunicar sus valores porque «comunicarse es generosidad, es respeto, es evitar todo tipo de discriminación».
Ante la pregunta de uno de los jóvenes que cuestionaba al Papa sobre el futuro, Francisco ha respondido que él no tiene «esa bola de cristal que tienen las brujas» para ver cómo será pero se ha mostrado convencido de que el futuro está «en el corazón, en la mente y en las manos» de los jóvenes. «Si vos sentís bien, pensás y llevás adelante ese pensamiento bueno, el futuro será mejor», ha añadido.
Para el Pontífice, la juventud necesita tres pilares claves: educación, deporte y cultura. Asimismo, ha deseado que «los estados puedan preparar salidas laborales» para la juventud.
Por otro lado, dirigiéndose a los niños de San Salvador, Francisco les ha pedido que tengan «cuidado con las maras» y que trabajen «en equipo» para poder «defenderse de aquellos que quieren atomizarlos». «Estén bien alerta –ha insistido–. Cuando hay grupos que buscan la destrucción, la guerra, defiéndanse entre ustedes como equipo».
Finalmente, les ha instado a «no tener miedo» y les ha pedido que «no olviden la herencia cultural, sapiencial y religiosa que les dejaron sus mayores». «Adelante con valentía, hagan el futuro», les ha exhortado.
