Como ya viene siendo entrañablemente tradicional antes y después de un viaje, el Papa Francisco fue, este martes por la mañana, a la Basílica de Santa María la Mayor para agradecerle a la Madre de Dios el buen logro y encomendarle los frutos de su Peregrinación a Tierra Santa. Como señaló el cardenal Santos Abril y Castelló, Arcipreste de la misma Basílica Papal mariana, el Obispo de Roma le ofreció un ramo de flores a la Virgen y se detuvo algunos minutos en oración. Luego, saludó a los fieles presentes. El purpurado español dijo que vio al Papa muy contento por su visita a la Tierra de Jesús. Es la novena vez que Francisco va a rezarle a la Salus populi romani, como hizo pocas horas después de su elección pontificia.
